Role: Business Development Manager
Location: Remote with occasional travel into London when needed
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 with a £70k-£80k OTE (Commission + Bonus)

Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Business Development Manager to grow and nurture client relationships and to drive new revenue opportunities. The role is ideal for a proactive, consultative seller who can translate client needs into strategic opportunities across our service lines (SEO, Paid Media, Content and Creative). You will work closely with leadership, account teams and delivery specialists to develop proposals, manage the sales pipeline and contribute to the agency’s strategic growth plans. This is a hybrid-remote role with occasional in-person meetings in London.
Main Responsibilities
Own and manage the new business pipeline from lead generation to contract signature, ensuring accurate forecasts and timely follow-up
Identify and qualify prospective clients through research, outreach, networking and inbound enquiry handling
Develop compelling, insight-led proposals and commercial models that align with client objectives and agency capabilities
Collaborate with account directors and delivery teams to design tailored solutions, scope work accurately and set appropriate expectations
Run discovery meetings and pitch presentations, articulating strategic rationale, expected outcomes and ROI
Negotiate commercial terms and manage the handover process to account teams to ensure a smooth onboarding experience
Track and report on sales activity, pipeline health and revenue performance using CRM and internal reporting tools
Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor to prospective and existing clients
Contribute to marketing and thought-leadership initiatives to raise the agency’s profile and support lead generation
Stay current with market trends, competitor activity and emerging opportunities within the digital marketing landscape
Essential Knowledge and Experience
3-6 years’ experience in business development, sales or commercial roles within a digital agency, consultancy or related services environment
Proven track record of winning and growing client accounts with demonstrable revenue impact
Strong consultative selling skills with the ability to diagnose client needs and present strategic, outcome-focused solutions
Experience producing proposals, commercial models and SOWs; comfortable handling pricing discussions and negotiations
Confident presenter with excellent verbal and written communication skills
Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce) and sales reporting best practice
Organised, self-motivated and able to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously
Strong interpersonal skills and experience collaborating with cross-functional delivery teams
Desirable
Knowledge of SEO, Paid Media and content services, with the ability to translate technical propositions into commercial value
Existing network or relationships within retail, e-commerce or DTC sectors
Experience working with proposal automation tools or familiarity with simple financial modelling

The Interview Process

Introductory Call (30 mins, virtual) – Conversation with our Recruitment Partners at Recrescere Group to discuss your background and interest
Commercial & Portfolio Interview (45 mins, virtual) – Discussion of past wins, approach to pipeline development and review of case studies
Practical Task – A short commercial brief to complete within an agreed timeframe to demonstrate strategic thinking and proposal design
Cultural Fit (30 mins, virtual or in-person) – Informal chat to assess alignment with our values and team dynamics
